Shattered Glass

Shattered glass is glass that has been broken into many pieces, typically due to a strong impact, pressure, or sudden temperature change. Depending on the type of glass, it can break in different ways:

  • Tempered glass shatters into small, blunt pieces for safety.

  • Annealed (regular) glass breaks into larger, sharp shards.

  • Laminated glass (like in car windshields) cracks but often stays in place because of a plastic layer between the panes.

What happens with Shattered Glass

  • Caused by impact, stress, or temperature shock.

  • Can pose a safety hazard due to sharp edges.

  • May form spiderweb cracks, large shards, or tiny fragments.

  • Common in accidents, break-ins, or faulty window installations.

Shattered glass is a clear sign that the window needs immediate replacement for both safety and security.
