Blown Glass
Blown glass are units with condensation appearing in the middle, this is from moisture being trapped between the panes of a double pane unit. These units are designed with multiple layers of glass separated by a sealed space, often filled with air or gas (like argon) for insulation. When that seal fails, moisture can seep in, causing fogging, haziness, or water droplets between the panes.
Why Glass becomes blown
It’s a sign of a broken or failed seal in insulated (IGU) windows.
Moisture gets trapped between panes where it can't be wiped away.
Commonly seen as cloudy, fogged, or streaky glass.
Reduces visibility, insulation performance, and energy efficiency.
Typically requires glass replacement or resealing to fix properly.
This issue is a frequent reason homeowners consider window replacement, especially if energy bills are rising or the appearance of the windows is affected.
